We are pleased to provide this space to all members of our Canadian lymphedema care community for sharing information about ongoing networking and support groups and activities for lymphedema, lipedema and related conditions, both for patients and clinicians. Calgary Lymphedema Support Group: an informal group for people in and around Calgary living with lymphedema or lipedema where they will find other people with the same or similar difficulties in life. This will be a place to communicate, find help, support, friends, conversations and education. Meeting approximately 4 times per year at a local restaurant. VANCOUVER

 

Lymphedema Information Sessions: held every last Wednesday of the month (except December) at InspireHealth in Vancouver BC from 5 to 6pm.  Hosted by Denise Drisdelle, RMT, MLD, CDT.  Free to attend, but registration required by calling 604-734-7125.  Open to anyone with a present or past cancer diagnosis, support people and professionals.   Learn about the lymphatic system, lymphedema, how to prevent, at home care, exercises, garments, Manual Lymph Drainage and CDT.  www.inspirehealth.ca

We are delighted and proud to announce that due to the diligence and efforts of a few dedicated individuals, Manitobans now have a provincial lymphedema support organization, the new Lymphedema Association of Manitoba. Lymphedema Support Group: Formed in 2011 by a group of women diagnosed with lymphedema following breast cancer, this networking and support group welcomes anyone who is struggling with lymphedema. The group meets every third Tuesday of the month to support each other and to discuss related lymphedema issues, and invites a guest speaker each month to address concerns. NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR

 

 

 

ST. JOHN’S

 

Lymphedema Support Group: held the first Thursday of March, June, September and December at 6:00 pm at Daffodil Place, 70 Ropewalk Lane, St. John’s. These meetings are co-chaired by nurses specialized in Complete Decongestive Therapy. This is an open meeting, everyone with or at risk for Lymphedema welcome! Bracebridge Women’s Cancer Support Group:  For women in the Muskoka District with breast cancer and/or lymphedema. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from 7:00-9:00 pm (except December, no set dates). Call for information on locations.

Lymphedema Support Group: The goals are to provide confidential information sharing and peer support in a relaxed informal setting. Periodic use of guest speakers on related topics, and discussion on the best ways to successfully manage and live with this lifelong condition. Proactive Measures Workshops: Learn about lymphedema, its causes, signs & symptoms, who is "at risk", how to minimize the risk of developing it, who to contact if you do, and how to measure your limbs to detect swelling. Please call: 519-749-0102 to enquire.

 

Laughing Lymphercise: Regular scheduled free drop in Laughing Lymphercise classes in Kitchener-Waterloo are hosted by HopeSpring (www.hopespring.ca) and held most Thursday mornings in the gym at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 78 John Street West at Severn Street, lots of free parking and entrance via the lot behind the church. NORTH BAY

 

Lymphedema Educational Workshop: occasional workshops are offered free of charge by Caring Treatments Massage and Lymphedema Clinic and will run once a season. Information may include updates on research and treatment, understanding the lymphatic system, exercises, self-care and treatments, garments, and how to minimize the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact of lymphedema. OSHAWA

 

The Hearth Place Lymphedema Support Group – provides information, emotional and practical support for those with lymphedema, and for those at risk following breast cancer treatment. Learn how to detect symptoms early and develop strategies to manage the challenges of lymphedema. Lymphedema Information and Support Group: sponsored by the LAO in connection with Wellspring and providing informal peer support for individuals and families in a caring and confidential setting.
