Caresia garments are standard-sized bandage liners that simplify complex multi-layered bandaging protocols while enhancing therapeutic outcomes in the active phase of therapy. Caresia Bandage Liners replace stockinette and multiple layers of padding or foam. Patients simply don their Caresia and then, using a spiral or figure-eight wrapping style with 50% overlap, wrap over top of their Caresia with short-stretch bandages. The short-stretch bandages should be applied to provide a snug fit, but not tight.
The unique foam chips used in every Caresia will help resolve tissue induration, stimulate interstitial fluid movement, and diffuse irregular wrapping pressures. Solaris manipulates the insertion of foam chips to create a medial to lateral pressure differential to encourage interstitial fluid movement toward the collateral pathways.
Caresia with over-wrapping is much more comfortable and effective than standard bandaging for patients during the active phase of therapy. Caresia decreases the level of time and effort commitment required for self-care, thus increasing compliance with the vital bandaging routine.
How to Care for Caresia Garments.
Caresia garments can be machine washed in warm water on the permanent press cycle using laundry detergent. To extend the life of your garment, double rinse to ensure all soap residue is removed. We also suggest that you wash and dry your garment with a normal load of laundry. If your garment does not dry on the first cycle, turn inside out and dry again on permanent press. Using any type of laundry additives, such as bleach or fabric softener, will damage the garment. Machine dry on permanent press or low heat setting. Heat exceeding 130ª F will permanently damage the fabric and deteriorate the foam filling.
