INSURANCE COVERAGE AND OTHER FUNDING FOR SOLARIS GARMENTS
As more and more Canadians order Solaris garments, Lymphedema Depot remains committed to supporting our customers’ efforts to successfully obtain private healthcare insurance coverage, and to collecting the related information from our dealers and their clients for the purpose of helping others.
We are interested in hearing from you if you have claimed coverage for your Solaris garment with your private healthcare insurance plan or another source. If your claim was denied, we may be able to help.
Use the links provided, below, to access support documentation to help educate your physician(s) if/as needed and/or to inform your insurance company about the nature of Solaris’ therapeutic garments and their application in the treatment of lymphedema and venous edemas.
Also below are links to the sites of third party insurers. Our customers have reported that the companies marked with a red checkmark paid a claim for their Solaris garment.

ONTARIO DEALERS AND ADP VENDORS:
Although we are engaged in the process to have Solaris garments considered for approval for coverage by the Ontario Assistive Devices Program (“ADP”), at this time we are not included on their list of “approved” devices for lymphedema coverage through ADP vendors.
If you have experience with Tribute it may be useful if you would contribute your product feedback directly to the ADP using the form to the right.
If your patient or client has private or workplace health care benefits, there is a good possibility that he or she may be covered for their Solaris garment, but some insurers require that the insured first exhausts the available funding through the ADP. Since Solaris garments are NOT covered by the ADP at this time, all that is generally required is a standard, “Letter of Denial” from the ADP, which your client will then submit to their insurer along with their pre-authorization or claim.
We have worked with the ADP to
streamline the process of obtaining such a denial letter – above is a link to
a fax template to use for this purpose. Simply click to open the form, print
and have your client fill out with their personal information and fax to the
number shown on the form. The ADP will issue the denial letter by mail,
typically within 7-10 days.
